Renato Murguía, an airplane manufacturing company owner based in his hometown of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is getting married. His fiancée Pamela is concerned about Renato not being a supportive father to her adolescent son, Emilio, who is bullied at school for being proverbially "weird", that assessment about Emilio with which Renato concurs. This issue combined with Renato not seeming to have any true friends leads Pamela to believe that Renato's problems in forging meaningful relations..
